 FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT

Fire safety management is one of the most important aspects of fire safety in buildings. In order to carry that out correctly, it is important to ensure that there is a fire safety management plan for the building.

KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL provides effective and simplifies approach. This would include issues such as:

  • Evacuation procedures and responsibilities for all staff.
  • Maintenance and testing requirements for fire safety equipment.
  • Management of contractors who may be working in the premises.
  • Procedures to follow in the event of any alterations to the building.
  • Methods of minimizing false alarms.
  • Responsibilities for carrying out fire risk assessments;
and Specific procedures for special events.

 FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT

A fire risk assessment helps you identify all the fire hazards and risks in your premises. You can then decide whether any risks identified are acceptable or whether you need to do something to reduce or control them.

KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL has an innovative, practical and robust approach to fire Risk assessment. The principles contained to use a risk assessment approach, which is goal based and flexible.

  • Identify fire hazards and people at risk and to remove or reduce the risk of those hazards causing harm to as low as is reasonably practicable.
  • To determine what fire safety measures and management policies are
necessary to ensure the safety of people in the building should fire occur.
  • Reducing the probability of a fire starting.
  • Ensuring that all occupants are alerted and can leave the premises safely in
    an event of a fire.
  • Limiting the effects should a fire occur. FIRE EVACUATION

 EVACUATION AND EMERGENCY PLANS

KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL has a significant experience in emergency response planning in the industrial and municipal sectors. This includes significant experience in facilities that process hazardous chemical storage facility, petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gases and other hazardous materials.

Fire Safety CAD Drawings has in-house AutoCAD Certified CAD drawing office staff. Their expertise and experience is one of the best in the industry.

 PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION

Passive Fire Protection (PFP is an integral component of the three components of structural fire protection and fire safety in a building. PFP attempts to contain fires or slow the spread, through use of fire-resistant walls, Floors and doors (amongst other examples). In order to ensure that Compartmentation and passive fire protection is properly designed, installed and maintained at the facility; we offer independent Passive Fire Protection consultancy services and inspection survey. Areas we specialize in:

  • Residential
  • Health care
  • Business
  • Hotel
  • Educational
  • Shopping Malls
  • Industrial/ Manufacturing Facilities (both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous)
  • Warehousing & Distribution (General & Chemical)
  • Oil Tank Farm and chemical storage

With the Company’s foray into the United Arab Emirates, Koffel International foresees in serving a rapidly growing, worldwide clientele of public and private organizations with focus on reliability and commitment.

 SAFETY AUDITS

KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL has an effective means to assist clients in improving their fire protection programs and the overall fire and life safety of their facility. Our Audits include the following:

  • Fire protection program Audits.
  • Fire safety system inspection, testing and maintenance program audit.
  • Life safety audits.
  • Emergency response audits.
  • Fire Compartmentalization and passive fire protection surveys.

 CFD ANALYSIS

COMPUTATIONAL-FLUID-DYNAMICS (CFD) ANALYSIS

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a method of calculation that allows a building to be simulated as a collection of millions of tiny cubes to determine how fire and smoke will spread throughout a space. It enables our fire engineers to accurately model the impacts of a fire within a building, before the building is constructed.

KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL can undertake detailed analysis and optimization of smoke control systems in complex buildings, to determine what smoke extract rate your building needs in order to provide adequate fire safety. In all but a few cases, the resultant smoke extract rate will be less than that specified by the building code and allow greater flexibility with regards to smoke zone sizes.

Our experienced engineers have a detailed understanding of fluid dynamics, affording them the ability to optimize the smoke exhaust design to suit the building geometry and features and minimize smoke spread. KOFFEL INTERNATIONAL has extensive experience in CFD modelling of large warehouses and manufacturing plants, shopping centers, commercial buildings with connecting voids, atria, and road and rail tunnels.
